Invisalign® - Clear Braces
Yorba Linda, CA

Straight, Beautiful Teeth

Invisalign logo
For years, orthodontists and dentists have used removable appliances for limited treatment. Today, with the application of computer technology and custom manufacturing, Invisalign treats a broader range of cases with greater precision.

Using 3-D computer imaging, Invisalign is a complete teeth straightening plan that allows our patients to visually see the beginning and ending results expected. With the software, we are able to produce through a dental lab a series of customized, clear aligners. While slowly changing from one aligner to the next, approximately every two weeks, we move your teeth in small increments continuing to replace the aligner with the next in the series until the final position is achieved.

Clear, Removable, and Comfortable

Professionals love Invisalign, because you can:
•  Straighten your teeth without those around you knowing, there are no metal brackets or wires for anyone to see.
•  Eat or drink anything they want during treatment without fear of having things stick in their braces, additionally, our patients remove the trays before eating.
•  Brush and floss normally by removing the aligner and then placing it afterwards.
•  Spend less time in the doctor's chair getting adjustments, because there are none, you are given all of your aligners at once.
•  View your virtual treatment plan with Dr. Eng before you start, letting you see how your straight teeth will look at completion.

Invisalign Aligners

What are Invisalign Aligners made from?

The aligners we use at East Lake Advancing Dentistry are made of a clear, heavy duty medical grade plastic that is nearly invisible to those around you. The resemble teeth whitening trays, which are custom-made for a comfortable fit to move your teeth. At our office we see them as being similar to contact lens for your teeth, an invisible product designed to help you.

Some background information about Invisalign

How long has Invisalign been around?

Align Technology, Inc., the company responsible for the manufacturing of Invisalign, was formed in 1997. In its almost 20 years of operation, they have created over 10 million aligners for an excess of 250,000 patients. The number is growing.

How old is this technology?

This technology is older than you may imagine. It was in 1945, that Dr. H.D. Kesling envisioned patients using a series of tooth positioners which would allow the movement needed for comprehensive orthodontic treatment. Technology today has made this vision a reality. By using advanced computer technology, Align has created Invisalign, which is a series of customized clear dental appliances that are called "aligners." By wearing each aligner sequentially the patient will see extensive movement with their teeth. This product is available for both upper and lower arches.

How many patients are being treated with Invisalign?

Invisalign is used all over the world, the number of patients who use this product exceeds 250,000 and that number grows daily.

Does Dr. Eng, and other doctors who use this product have specialized training?

Yes! Dr. Eng was required to complete specialized training in order to be a provider for the Invisalign product. All orthodontists and dentists interested in being a provider for Invisalign, must attend training before Align will allow them to order from their dental lab.

How does Invisalign move teeth?

Aligners move your teeth through controlled force on your teeth, just as the wires on braces do. The main difference is that Invisalign controls both the force and also the timing of the force. The aligners are made so that only certain teeth are moved in each stage, decided by your treatment plan for that particular stage. This controlled force results in a more efficient force system.

Is Invisalign FDA cleared?

Yes, the FDA reviewed the application for clearance and in August 1998 determined that Invisalign is exempt from 510(k) pre-market notification.

What is Invisalign Express?

Invisalign Express is an orthodontic treatment that is designed to correct minor orthodontic problems including minor crowding and spacing. Since it's designed for mild problems only, this treatment option is generally less than six months. Ask your Invisalign certified doctor, Dr. Eng, for more information on this new treatment.
